Smooth Stepping Foot Soak

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Different tools for different jobs. The Foot Soap is a scrubbing bar you use in the shower for quick daily cleansing and gentle exfoliation. The Foot Soak is a mineral-rich blend you dissolve in warm water and soak your feet in for 15 to 20 minutes. Use the soap daily; use the soak when your feet need a proper reset (after a long day, before a pedicure, or once or twice a week for maintenance).
  • Dissolve 2 to 3 tablespoons in a basin of warm water and soak your feet for 15 to 20 minutes. One jar gives you roughly 8 to 10 soaks depending on how generous you are per use. Follow with a rinse, pat dry, and moisturize.
  • As a retired OB/GYN, I recommend caution: this blend contains peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils, which are generally advised against during pregnancy in warm foot soaks (they can be absorbed through skin and, in some cases, may affect milk supply if nursing). If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please check with your own provider before use, or choose a plain Epsom salt soak instead.
  • If you have diabetes, peripheral neuropathy, poor circulation, or any open cuts or sores on your feet, please talk to your doctor before soaking. Warm water and salt soaks aren't right for every foot, and your provider knows your situation. For sensitive but otherwise healthy skin, start with a shorter soak (10 minutes) and see how your feet respond.
  • Warm is better than hot. Hot water can dry out your skin and undo some of what the goat milk and oatmeal are doing. Aim for comfortably warm (like a nice bath), not steaming.
  • No. The salts, milk powder, and oatmeal rinse clean with water. Give your basin a quick rinse after soaking and you're done.
  • Yes, in most basic soaking foot spas. Avoid using it in jetted or motorized units unless the manufacturer explicitly says salts and botanicals are safe (undissolved bits can clog jets and mineral salts can be hard on seals over time). If you're unsure, dissolve fully in a separate bowl first, or use a plain basin.
  • This blend contains peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils, which aren't recommended for children under 6 (and should be used cautiously up to age 10). For younger kids, a plain warm-water and Epsom-salt soak is a safer choice.
