• Won't charcoal soap dry out my face?
  Not this one. The activated charcoal does the cleansing work, but the bar is built on a base of olive, shea butter, almond, and argan oils, which keep it conditioning as it cleanses. Most people find it clean-rinsing without the tight, stripped feeling that some charcoal products leave behind. If your skin runs on the drier side, use it a few times a week rather than daily.
• Which skin types is this best for?
  It's most loved by people with normal to oily skin, or anyone who wants a deeper cleanse (after workouts, sunscreen days, or a day with heavy makeup). If your skin is very dry or reactive, our Clay,Seed and Tree Face Bar is a gentler starting point.
• Will it remove makeup?
  Yes. Customers report it removes makeup, including foundation and sunscreen, well. For heavy or waterproof makeup, use two rounds or pair with a first cleanse (like Micellar Water).
• Does the charcoal turn my face or washcloth black while using it?
  The lather goes on a light gray and rinses clean. It can leave a faint gray tint on a white washcloth (it usually washes out in the laundry), so a darker facecloth is a smart pairing if that bothers you.
• How often should I use it?
  For most skin types, once a day (morning or evening) works well. For very oily skin or an active outdoor day, twice a day is fine. For drier skin, 2 to 3 times a week is plenty; alternate with a gentler cleanser on your off days.
• Is it safe for the eye area?
  Wash around the eye area, not directly over the lids. As with any soap, if the lather gets in your eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. It's not designed as an eye makeup remover.
• Can men use it?
  Absolutely. It's popular as a face and beard wash, and the tea tree and lemongrass scent reads clean and fresh rather than floral or sweet.
