A cold-process goat milk soap made with real goat milk and pure lavender essential oil for a creamy, gently lathering bar with a classic, calming scent. Goat milk brings rich moisture and a luxurious lather, while the lavender gives it a familiar, comforting scent that's been a bathroom staple for generations.
Part of Dr. Soaper's Signature Soap Collection: seven hand-poured, hand-cut bars, always in stock, each named by Dr. Soaper herself with names you might hear in a doctor's office. This one is Breathe Deeply, a nod to her background as a physician.
Every bar cures for four to six weeks in our small North Carolina workshop. No detergents, no synthetic fragrance, no artificial color, just simple, pronounceable ingredients for a gentle, moisturizing cleanse.
Made with:
Real goat milk (powdered for consistency, see note below)
Pure lavender essential oil
Olive oil, coconut oil, and shea butter
No parabens, sulfates, phthalates, or synthetic fragrance
Why powdered goat milk? A note from the soap maker: we use powdered goat milk, not fresh, and it's a deliberate choice. Fresh milk scorches easily when it hits the lye, but powdered gives us a consistent, reliable source and a smoother batch every time. All the fatty acids, milk sugars, and proteins that make goat milk soap creamy and bubbly are still there. (The vitamins don't survive saponification either way, that's just soap chemistry.)
Why lavender? Lavender has been used in soap making for hundreds of years for its familiar, comforting scent. We use pure lavender essential oil, never a synthetic fragrance blend, so what you smell is the real plant.
Handmade in small batches by Simply Soap by Dr. Soaper.
Ingredients: Saponified oils of coconut, olive, palm (certified sustainable), almond and castor. With goat milk, lavender essential oil, white kaolin clay, sodium lactate, mica for coloring and titanium dioxide
Yes, scented with lavender essential oil, not synthetic fragrance. The scent is calm and herbaceous rather than perfume-sweet.
No. It is the same creamy goat milk base as the rest of the collection. And of course it contains all the retained glycerin.
Powdered goat milk, for a consistent bar batch to batch. Powdered milk avoids the scorching that happens when fresh milk hits the lye, and the finished bar still has the fatty acids, sugars, and proteins that make goat milk soap so creamy.
In the concentrations used in soap, yes, and this is a popular choice for a calming bedtime bath.
Yes, for most people. If your face is sensitized or actively broken out, patch test first or use the Clay Seed and Tree Facial Cleanse
I am one of those people who can't stand strong fragrances like scented candles or perfumes and air fresheners. So I hesitate to buy scented soaps, but I found the Oatmeal and Honey Goat Milk soap to have a very mild and pleasing scent. So for those of you who have scent sensitivity - this one is for you!
